THE PROBLEM IS THE CAMEROONIAN PEOPLE

Everyone I have met from Cameroon seems to complain about tribalism, corruption and the need to overhaul and reform the system. They also seem to agree that the current Government and the mentality of the people are also part of the problem. We are all virtually in agreement that something has to be done and urgently. We all seem to want to do something or at least pretend to. So, why can’t we ? Why is it that we as a people can’t do what we need and want ?

THE PROBLEM IS THE AFRICAN CULTURE

Prior to the Whiteman's arrival to the African continent, Africa was just a bunch of small villages with chiefs and kings at their heads. The chief or village leader was generally considered a superhuman. All power was surrendered to him by his people. He was given absolute powers including the right to life for his people. This African society of old, was essentially divided into two classes. There was a class for those who were considered better human beings –either because they were considered wealthy or more intelligent--and worthy of life.

REWRITE OF THE AFRICAN DICTATOR HANDBOOK

I have advocated for the need to change the constitution of Cameroon. It is my belief that the current constitution gives too much power to the executive branch or the president. I have indicated that the African culture, in my view is already too surrendering and too “weak”  because of its practices of de-facto inequality among people.

KNOW AND WRITE YOUR OWN HISTORY

I like to make a correlation between underdevelopment and the lack of knowledge of one’s history. Before the Whiteman came to Africa, the people of Africa knew how to communicate using several dialects. However what they did not know or have was a common alphabet or a way to convey the events that they had experienced or witnessed in writing.

WITCHCRAFT, SORCERY AND OCCULT PRACTICES IN CAMEROON – SOME THOUGHTS

Given the complex and perplex nature of all paranormal phenomena, it can be a conjectural task –at the least-- to write on the topic. My intent of opining on the subject is by no means to change your belief on the topic as I do not pretend to have all the answers or explanations to all paranormal events around the world or in Cameroon. Just like you, I have heard many of the stories from Cameroon on witchcraft and sorceries, supernatural powers attributed to some people and the proliferation of the so called occult practices.

CFA Franc: THE CULPRIT OF FRANCOPHONE AFRICA’s DEVELOPMENT

As we the people of Africa talk about Freedom, Democracy and Justice, the CFA franc, often is the elephant in the room that does not get enough of the peoples’ attention. Because Finance is the bloodline and the lifeline of all Economies, any comprehensive discussion or debate of the problems facing our country today must necessarily have the CFA –the currency used in Francophone African Countries-- as one of its most important sliver if not the most important.
